Blog Received, Wednesday 9th March, evening:
Having had lunch on arrival, the rain kindly ceased, the clouds parted and the sun shone for our orienteering challenge. The children rampaged around the surrounding woods, using their map-reading and teamwork skills to find the 25 posts positioned around the Lodge.
There was much excitement when the room lists were read and they soon settled into their home for the next two days.
We were obviously spoilt the last two days, being blessed with children who understood unpacking and the crucial next-step - putting the items away in an orderly fashion. This was slightly more problematic for this cohort, with their clothes and towels scattered around the room in some very imaginative places. Pictures to follow.
Currently (although this won't be read until the morning), we are sipping our hot chocolates and enjoying a Revolting Rhyme read by Miss Lyons and about to make our way to our bedrooms, excited to get a good nights sleep with absolutely no interruptions. Bliss!
