Year 3 entered a parallel universe on 22nd February as we stepped back in time by thousands of years!
The year group found themselves battling the elements on a cold and rainy day at Butser Ancient Farm – but that didn’t spoil our fun! Everyone had an amazing day exploring daily life and activities as a child in the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.
The children loved being inside the huts, learning first-hand what it would have been like to spend everyday living inside one smoky room. It must be noted that the children (and staff) were rather shocked by the Stone Age toilet facilities! Ancient British boys certainly had a raw deal – just ask the children for more information!
All the children learnt how to make twine bracelets, copper rings, chalk carvings and even excavated an archaeological sandpit!
‘It was the best day ever.’
‘I learnt so much!’
