To see the planning for this year group, please look at ‘curriculum’ in the information pages of this site.
Today we dressed up as pirates to celebrate our topic learning on pirates. We also had a visit from Rainbow Theatre who performed a spectacular show. We found the show very funny and even got to join in with songs and acting!
We have seen some amazing maths hats in year 1 today. The children have been busy doing a range of maths activities that included a special 'Teddy Town' game, drawing things that they could see behind, in front and alongside them, programming a car and colouring numbers.
The highlight of the day so far has been tackling an obstacle course whilst blindfolded, being guided by a friend who had to use the correct positional language to get through.
What an exciting start to the new school year Years 1 and 2 have had.
A mysterious egg has appeared in our classrooms.
Where did it come from?
How did it get into our classroom?
What is inside the egg?
We have shared our ideas about these questions. In Science, we have found out some of the animals that come from eggs. We have drawn pictures of what we think might be in the egg and written descriptions of the “creature”. We have also started reading a book called “The Egg” by M.P. Robertson.
Now we are waiting for the egg to hatch!!!
Years 1 and 2 had an amazing morning on Thursday 30th November 2017. They had a visit from Punch and Judy!
They were shown a range of puppets, including glove puppets and marionette.
They watched the Punch and Judy Show and this involved a great deal of participation. The children really enjoyed themselves!
After the show the children were able to have a close look at the puppets
