Boccia Competition

This week, the children from Beach took part in the first Boccia tournament of the school year.

They entered three teams who each played six games against other the schools who were taking part.

Although we didn't win, we all had lots of fun and showed some lovely teamwork and sportsmanship.

Afternoon Tea

Everyone had a lovely time yesterday at Beach Class's afternoon tea.

The children had made cakes, written name cards and laid the table. Current parents and pupils met with new parents and pupils and the mums and dads enjoyed a drink and some food whilst the children played.

It was a very successful event and everyone cannot wait for September now!

Athletics Competition

We are so proud of our KS2 Inclusion Athletes.

The team travelled to Littlehampton to take part in the inclusion athletic competition. They all won a team award for passion, and Zaid won a medal for 'greatest effort and improvement'.

They worked very hard and had lots of fun - here they are at the event, well done boys!

World Book Day

On world book day Beach class created their own book in the style of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's "Charlie Cook's Favourite Book".

The children used the characters they were dressed as to write their contributions to the story.  We then re-enacted the story telling and videoed the results.  Our book is now available in print at a cost of £2.00 per copy.  Funds raised will enhance our Lego Therapy sessions.

Kurling

The children from Beach Class took part in the Worthing 'school’s KS2 kurling competition' on Wednesday.

Herbie, Dexter, Zaid, Joshua and Charlie joined Hollie from Heron class to make up the two teams. Kamil was the chief cheerleader and supported his classmates really well on the day – even having a little go himself at the end of the competition.

The teams had been practising for weeks for this competition and their hard work paid off when red team finished third and blue team came first overall.

We are so proud of the support that all of the children gave to each other, of their hard work and commitment, and to the wonderful way that they played alongside so many other schools.

Here are some photos of the day:
