Hello and welcome to the summer term in Reception!
The children were all eager to find out about our new topic ‘People who help us!
Together, we discussed all the people in the community who help us and the first one on the list was our lollypop man Mr. Cranefield. The children were so excited when he came into the classroom to talk to them! They asked him lots of questions about his job and Mr. Cranefield answered them all in lots of detail, carefully explaining the importance of his work.
The children were very keen to make their very own Lollypop sticks in the modelling area. Some made them very long by joining lots of cardboard tubes together. They carefully cut out circles in card, wrote their words and attached these to their tubes. The children then took them outside to use on the bicycle track, stopping the ‘traffic’!
We have had lots of fun in the ‘vets and post office’ role play areas too and can’t wait to find out who we will be learning about next week!
