Welcome back after the half term break! Yet again, what a busy time we have had in Reception!
We couldn’tlet Pancake Day pass without making an attempt at making our very own pancakes!
We had so much fun! We began by reading the story ‘Mr. Wolfe’s Pancakes.’Mr. Wolfe needed help to make the pancakes but his very unkind neighbours refused to help him! Can you believe that?
He wasn’t very good at reading the recipe or writing a list of ingredients on his shopping list so we stepped in to help him. We read the recipe together then made a list of all the things we needed to buy at the shops. We weighed and measured the ingredients and then mixed them altogether. We cooked and tossed the pancakes in the frying pan and the smell was lovely! The best bit was tasting them! They were delicious!
In the story, Mr. Wolfe’s neighbours could smell the lovely aroma coming from his house. They knocked on his door, rushed in and said they’d come to help him eat them! We won’t tell you what happened next, you’ll have to read the story!
We had a really good time on World Book day too! Everyone came to school dressed up as different characters from their favourite stories and we thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the different costumes. Thank you to our families for helping us to look so wonderful. We listened to the ‘blurbs’ on the back of three different stories and we could all decide which story we could go and listen to in our three classrooms.
We all enjoyed the World book Day Assembly and took part in a parade so everyone could see the wonderful costumes.
Thank you for all the donations for books for school, we will so enjoy reading them!
