What a busy time we’ve had after the Bank holiday. In the four days we have been back in school we have had visits from so many people. We have had such an exciting time!
We welcomed the Morris dancers earlier this week. They came into see us wearing their exciting costumes and with bells attached. They told us all about the history of the Morris dancers and gave us a demonstration of their dancing. Afterwards, we all wanted to make our own outfits and used pieces of fabric to attach to our arms and legs and dance just like them. They even told us that if we wanted to become a Morris dancer, we could join and we would be known as ‘Morris Minors!’
We had a visit from a lovely gentleman who rescues hedgehogs and he brought two with him. If we wanted to, we were allowed to stroke them as long as we washed our hands afterwards. We were surprised to learn they didn’t feel prickly at all.We had to be very quiet just in case we scared them. Hedgehogs don’t like lots of noise - just like our teachers!!!
We also had a visit from a Nurse from Worthing Hospital. He told us all about his job and he brought lots of bandages with him. We really enjoyed watching how to wrap a real bandage and watching a ‘plaster cast’ made. It was so funny to see our teachers in a plaster cast. We then worked in small groups and bandaged each other. Our teachers thought we would all make excellent nurses because we did such a good job!
Just to finish an exciting four days, one of our friends in Reception demonstrated his piano playing for us. He had been working really hard practising at home and he was allowed to use the school piano to perform his very own ‘concert.’ His mummy very kindly came in to support him, it was so exciting!
We wonder who might be on the agenda for next week.
