Geography
At Durrington Infant and Junior School, our geography curriculum is designed to ensure that teaching equips pupils with the skills to gather, organise and use geographic information whilst developing their knowledge of diverse places, people and environments.
As pupils progress through the school, their growing awareness about the world, and their place in it, helps them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes and the formation and use of landscapes and environments. They also develop a strong understanding of how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time.
We believe that geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world, stimulating the children’s interest in their surroundings and developing them as active, respectful citizens.
