Design Technology (DT)

We believe that DT is concerned with the whole education of a child and can make a significant contribution to a pupil’s self-esteem and inter personal skills.  Pupils need opportunities to explore, experiment, persevere and have fun, allowing them to love and take pride in the products they design and make.

Pupils will demonstrate through their design decisions, their creative, technical and practical expertise, independently or in a team.  They will respect the views of others.

In our school pupils will have a clear idea of who they are designing and making products for, considering their needs, wants, values, interests and preferences.  Pupils should design and make products that function effectively in order to fulfil a purpose.  Pupils should design and make products that are believable, real and meaningful to themselves and others.

We aim to prepare children for the developing world.
