In Reception, we love learning through play and exploring new activities through exciting new topics.  We have two indoor classrooms and a large outdoor classroom where the children love to play in our mud kitchen, sandpit, construction and role play areas. We love getting messy and having lots of fun!  We spend some time in our class groups and the rest of our time mixing together as a year group and making decisions about which area to visit.  Each classroom is based around an area of learning.  We have a literacy and communication based room, a maths and construction based room and a science and arts based room.

Bluebell Class is the literacy based room and we do lots of drawing, mark making and reading in this classroom.  We have our very own reading space where the children love to share a collection of fiction and non-fiction books and act out stories that they know well using puppets and story props.  We also practise our Talk for Writing stories and using a range of new vocabulary in our discussions with others.

Sunflower Class  is the maths based room where we do lots of counting, sorting and shape work.  Children can use their building skills to create their very own masterpieces using our construction equipment.  We love to explore shape and measure in our play too and we create some fantastic shape models and pictures.
