Pupils greet friends with cheerful faces, reflecting the warmth and care they are shown by adults at the school. - Ofsted
Communication from the school to parents has always, and continues to be amazing. The thing I have been most wowed by with the school though has been their entire attitude towards the safety of the children, staff and parents / carers throughout this very challenging time, and the support they have offered to parents has gone way beyond the necessary measures. - Parent
...how lucky and proud I am that my children attend such a wonderful school – they are better people for coming to a diverse, inclusive and supportive school. - Parent (in response to the school setting up a food bank.)
Welcome to Durrington Infant and Junior Schools
A Welcome Message from the Co-Headteachers:
At Durrington Infant and Junior Schools, we pride ourselves on recognising and responding to the individual needs of our children and their families. This is achieved through an encouraging and supportive environment where everyone is motivated to succeed. Our school values recognise the importance of working together to achieve high standards of behaviour, respect and learning which is why we promote a close partnership with parents and carers.
We are a large school with extensive grounds for sports and outdoor activities. We have specialised classrooms for modern foreign languages, computing, music, art, nurture and supported learning. This is enhanced by the expertise of specialist teaching staff to ensure the children access a broad and creative curriculum. This, along with our developing range of extra-curricular clubs, serves to inspire and motivate learning.
We have a Nursery class which takes children from the age of three, where children are encouraged to discover the world through a range of activities in a secure environment.
We are also fortunate enough to have a Special Support Centre (SSC) for nine children with social communication difficulties from 7-11 years old. The Centre is run by highly qualified and dedicated staff members who support the children to integrate into mainstream classes, as well as inside the SSC.
We very much look forward to working together with you to challenge, inspire and motivate your children to become independent, confident and caring citizens.
