Blog received, Wednesday 9th March, 7.55am:
What a brilliant 2 days. Mrs Burgess & Mrs Coulson are sitting, fresh faced, feet up, teas in hand in the Library Room with only Harry, Dylan and Jack sitting quietly at the table playing Top Trumps.
Yesterday morning, before the 07:00 curfew lifted, it sounded as if children were about to fall through the floors with all the thumping that was going on - who knows what Max, Ronan and Camren were doing! In comparison, after yesterday's exertions, there are lots of children (Tash, Ayanda, Teagan, Laura, Maisy and Lauren to name a few) who still haven't stirred from their beds and it's nearly breakfast.
The children have been a credit to the school and their parents whilst being here, with their behaviour, teamwork and the way they have engaged with every part of the trip. Whether it was Scarlett and Harry M tackling the climbing tower, Emma and Charlie K supporting their teammates by holding the rope, or Colby and Konrad flying round the karting track, it has been a trip to remember.
Even for the adults...
"I've had the best sleeps in eight years (during a residential)," Mrs Burgess
"Normally, I'm up and down for at least an hour at the beginning of the night patrolling corridors and ushering children back into bed - NOT on this trip. This never happens!" Mr Hawkins
The children arriving today have a lot to live up to!
