Year 4

Lodge Hill 2017 - Day 1

06  Mar  2017

Number of children at last head count = 100%

Number of adults at last head count = 100% (just... the hill is very steep)

We’ve made it too Lodge Hill. Currently, the children are settling into their rooms and exploring the building after a couple hours exploring the grounds and playing.

Before we left school this morning, we talked about hopes and fears for the next couple of days and, despite all the great activities we have organised and all the hard work the teachers have put into making this happen, FOOD was near the top of the list for lots of the children (who had had older brother or sisters already come on the residential). They didn’t seem too disappointed with afternoon tea.

Obviously, every single child can’t wait to get to sleep the moment dinner is finished and not waking up before 07:00!

What’s been the best thing so far?

'Finding out where we’re sleeping! We have our own beds, hangers, and place to put our clothes.' Scarlett

'I loved the adventure trail (walking around the grounds) because we got to go through different obstacles and find all the fairy doors on the trees.’ Jena

‘Going round the grounds was fun because I had to look for all the questions on the trees and open the doors on them.’ Jacob

‘I love how I’m with all my friends and we can spend time in our rooms!’ Lewis

'Afternoon tea.’ Mr Blake
